The head of the GUFSIN of Kuzbass, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service Konstantin Bereznev, Deputy Head of the GUFSIN, Colonel of the Internal Service Sergei Churin, Head of IK-1, Colonel of the Internal Service Igor Leder, and employees of the colony took part in the solemn event.

At the beginning of 2021, the management of IK-1 made a decision to redesign the inactive metalworking section of the industrial zone of the institution with a total area of ​​930 sq. m. in a sewing workshop, in order to increase the number of employed convicts.

Specialists of the GUFSIN have developed a design for a sewing site, in order to ensure the flow of the production process and the seasonality of the work performed (assortment). For its implementation of the project, about 5 million rubles were spent, due to the profit from income-generating activities.

The created sewing workshop meets all the requirements of the SanPiN institution, fire safety and labor protection requirements for the organization of this production.

As part of the implementation of the federal target program “Development of the penal system (2018-2026) in 2021”, 103 sewing and cutting equipment was supplied to IK-1: 89 universal straight stitching machines for medium and heavy fabrics; 14 special machines (two-needle industrial sewing machine, buttonhole sewing machine, button sewing machine, bartacking machine, semi-industrial steam generator, manual cut-off ruler).

In the second half of 2021, another 65 pieces of equipment will be delivered to the institution: 37 universal lockstitch machines for medium and heavy fabrics; 19 special machines (two-needle industrial sewing machine, buttonhole sewing machine, button sewing machine, bartacking machine, industrial overlock, duplicating press, band cutting machine); 9 machines for the production of knitwear.

For the purpose of loading this section, contracts have already been concluded for the amount of over 9 million rubles. for the manufacture of garments, as well as the provision of services with organizations of various forms of ownership of the Kemerovo Region, Tomsk Region, Novosibirsk Region, Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In addition, a preliminary agreement was reached with major customers in Yekaterinburg (Novatex LLC), as well as in St. Petersburg (BTK Group LLC), which is a supplier to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The opening of the facility will create 181 jobs and enter the large-scale production of sewing products, while additionally employing more than 300 convicts.
