Servicemen of a separate engineer-sapper unit of the army corps of the Eastern Military District (VVO) on Sakhalin, within the framework of
planned check of combat readiness carried out the neutralization of conventional explosive devices installed by the “enemy” on the coast of the island.

At the Uspenovsky training ground, military engineers of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces, using special underwater mine detectors, performed engineering reconnaissance of the terrain to find and neutralize the installed anti-tank and anti-amphibious mines in the coastal strip.

In addition, the servicemen complied with the standards for mining areas of the terrain of the proposed landing of a simulated enemy assault force,
where in the shortest possible time it was necessary to install various types of mines.

Also, military engineers worked out a set of measures for making passages in a minefield to overcome areas of the terrain with personnel and military equipment.

In total, more than 200 servicemen of a separate engineer-engineer subdivision of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces took part in the exercise and about 30 units of military and special equipment were involved.
