A large woodworking company specializes in the production of furniture, flooring and interior items made of wood. The plant is one of the leaders in the regional woodworking market and is considered by the administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service (UFSIN) as a site for creating on its basis a site that functions as a correctional center.
Ivan Prokopenko and employees of the Department responsible for the areas of activity arrived at the enterprise for negotiations with the management. During the meeting, representatives of the plant on the spot familiarized the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service with the production facilities of the enterprise, working conditions and material and household equipment of the hostel, which is planned to be provided for living convicts to forced labor.
In turn, the head of the regional Federal Penitentiary Service told about the necessary legal requirements for employment and placement of convicts to forced labor.
Currently, the leadership of the UFSIN is actively working to expand the system of correctional centers, a number of enterprises are being considered, on the basis of which it is possible to create sections that function as correctional centers. Interest in this type of cooperation is growing on the part of potential employers; representatives of industrial enterprises of the Tula region and the regional Federal Penitentiary Service are actively working on the issue of employment of convicts to forced labor.
As a result of the working meeting, Ivan Prokopenko and the management of the woodworking enterprise exchanged the necessary information and agreed to consider the possibility of opening a site on the basis of the plant, which functions as a correctional center.
