Servicemen of the tank units of the combined arms army of the Western Military District, stationed in the Leningrad Region, began practical firing from the armament of T-72B3 tanks.

In the field, the crews practice combat coordination between the crews and practice shooting exercises. Targets imitating the armored vehicles of a conventional enemy are located at a distance of 500 to 1200 meters. Shooting takes place in the daytime and at night with the use of night vision devices.

The main emphasis in the training of tankers is made on their acquisition of the skills of firing on the move at emerging and moving targets, as well as the defeat of unmanned aerial vehicles of a simulated enemy from a heavy tank machine gun.

In addition, the servicemen complied with the standards for loading ammunition, disassembling and assembling machine guns. The driver-mechanics demonstrated the passage of the track with natural and artificial obstacles at speed.

The main feature of the shooting is that the targets appear in the engagement zone for a very short time, and this requires an instant response and accuracy from the military.

More than 150 servicemen and about 40 pieces of weapons and military equipment were involved in the live firing.
