Consolidated emergency response teams of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in North Ossetia and Karachay-Cherkessia were put on high alert in connection with the storm warning announced in the republics.

The composite detachments include engineering and medical units, as well as special equipment for eliminating the possible consequences of heavy rains, mudflows, and a rise in the water level.

Including in a two-hour readiness for departure to the emergency area there are four operational response teams, which include more than 300 servicemen and about 100 pieces of equipment.

At present, at the headquarters of the Southern Military District, the duty shift of the regional control center is conducting round-the-clock monitoring and analysis of incoming information for a prompt response to emergencies and assistance to local authorities in their solution.

In total, the grouping of forces and means of the Southern Military District for the elimination of emergencies numbers more than 10 thousand servicemen and over 1000 units of engineering and special equipment, ready to perform tasks in cooperation with units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
