As part of the planned combat training activities of the Northern Fleet’s naval groupings, the naval search and strike group consisting of small anti-submarine ships of the Onega and Naryan-Mar battalions of the White Sea naval base worked out anti-submarine missions in the White Sea.

The ships searched for the submarine using onboard sonar weapons and detected its torpedo attack. The heavy nuclear submarine Dmitry Donskoy, which operated at a depth of over 100 meters, served as an underwater enemy for small anti-submarine ships.

The crews of the ships practiced firing at the submarine with practical torpedoes without a warhead. After the successful completion of the combat exercise, the torpedoes were raised from the water by the personnel of the torpedo boat and delivered to the base.

MPK “Onega” and “Naryan-Mar” are completing the complex of tasks of the course of combat training of surface ships as part of the formation. Earlier, in the training grounds of the fleet in the White Sea, they conducted a number of artillery fires at sea and air targets, grenade and bombing, and also worked out anti-submarine and air defense of a convoy of ships.
