In the Kirov region, the memory of the soldiers of the 125th rifle division is honored. This is evidenced by the recent project “Living History”, implemented on the territory of the DOSAAF airfield of Russia “Poroshino-Kirov”.

The military history club “Front”, with the assistance of the regional branch of DOSAAF, presented the residents of the regional center with the reconstruction of one of the episodes of the Great Patriotic War. The reconstruction was based on a real story from the combat path of the 125th Krasnoselskaya Red Banner Order of Kutuzov Infantry Division, which was formed in August 1939 in the city of Kirov from the residents of the Kirov region.

The division fighters took part in the defense of Leningrad, the Leningrad-Novgorod, Baltic and Vistula-Oder strategic offensive operations, and the Prague operation.

The 125th Krasnoselskaya Red Banner Order of Kutuzov Infantry Division was disbanded in the summer of 1945. Lieutenant Nikolai Andreevich Kozlov became the Hero of the Soviet Union from the fighters of the division in February 1942. Bessonov Alexander Grigorievich (died 03.24.1945), Sedov Pyotr Stepanovich and Enginoev Duda Edievi became full holders of the Order of Glory

The episode with the liberation of the Kunda settlement by the 125th division in 1944 was reconstructed by the military history club at the DOSAAF airfield.

Reconstructors have recreated the life of the Baltic town during the occupation by the Nazis. Members of the “Front” demonstrated to the residents of Kirov the equipment of the Red Army and the Wehrmacht, defensive trenches and firing points – the most spectacular zones of the interactive park.

In order for the machine guns to fire without stopping, the reenactors chose the most economical way to recreate the machine gun burst. It is essentially a large gas burner. Front activist Yevgeny Smirnov said that the sound of a shot corresponds to a combat pattern. The work is carried out by a mixture of gases. In addition to machine guns, the reconstructed combat points are equipped with telephones. Evgeny Smirnov explained that a wired telephone connected two firing points that were created in an open field. At the front, in a matter of days, the fighters on their own had to build a position and carefully camouflage it. The trenches were dug up to human height and always left an embankment. They were made either in the shape of a corner or in the shape of a snake. This was necessary in order to soften the blast wave in the event of an enemy mine or shell hit. That is why each soldier had his own camping shovel. She helped to escape from the enemy bullet, disguised in the ground.

Alexander Yeltsov, a member of the Front club, is the owner of a unique artifact – the Comintern sapper blade produced in 1941. He said that one resident of Kirov gave him this shovel. His grandfather returned from the war with his sapper shovel. The shovel was kept in the veteran’s family for over 70 years, then it was transferred to the Front club.

A presidential grant and more than 200 fellow reenactors from seven regions who came to “fight” in Kirov helped to implement the Living History project. The Military Historical Club “Front”, headed by Oleg Pilguyev, a member of DOSAAF with many years of experience, works closely with the regional defense society. It could not be otherwise, because the club created the primary branch of DOSAAF.

And the current reconstruction at the airport will undoubtedly become one of the most spectacular and memorable events of this summer.
