Russian peacekeepers ensure the safety of local residents while harvesting grain crops in the Mardakert region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

“At the moment, the safety of agricultural work is being carried out in the Mardakert region near the village of Shraven,” said Aleksey Kolesnikov, a spokesman for the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

For this region, it is believed that wheat harvesting began with a great delay, because in two months winter sowing will begin, and the fields will not have time to recover.

“Near the Azerbaijani post, we were afraid to reap our own harvest, thanks to the peacekeepers, we are not afraid to reap our own harvest. Thank you for helping us, ”said local resident Ruslan Arstn.

With the harvesting of fields in the Mardakert region, the wheat harvest in Nagorno-Karabakh will be almost complete, but local residents are already turning to the Humanitarian Response Center so as not to disrupt the sowing work.

“We are working in the field, collecting crops, but with the delimitation of borders, we need the help of Russian peacekeepers in order to harvest,” said combine operator Vitaly Lazaryan.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
