The crews of the MiG-31BM high-altitude supersonic fighter-interceptors of the fighter aviation regiment of the Central Military District (CVO), during a comprehensive training on combat readiness, forced a reconnaissance aircraft of a simulated enemy to land in the Perm Territory.

Aviation on duty took off from an airfield in the Perm Territory on a signal that an “enemy” aircraft was approaching the State Border, which did not respond to requests from the identification system. The interceptor crews received radar reconnaissance data and flew out to intercept the aircraft. The pilots visually detected the aircraft and took it for escort. The crews of the MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors operated as a pair, forcing the intruder to climb to maximum values. While performing maneuvers to evade the duty forces, the conditional airspace violator, the Su-24, ran out of fuel and was forced to land at a given airfield.

Aviation combat readiness training involves the duty forces of the aviation division of the Central Military District, the crews of the MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors and the Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft, and about 1,000 servicemen from among the flight personnel, support group, flight control, combat command posts, and aviation guidance and radar detection.

Earlier it was reported that a comprehensive training on combat readiness began in the troops of the Central Military District under the leadership of the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin. KSHU will last until the end of the week.
