In the Republic of Dagestan, an airborne training assembly (ATP) of the airborne assault and reconnaissance units of the Caspian Flotilla Marine Corps (CFL) was completed.

At the initial stage of the training camp, the servicemen underwent ground training for the elements of a parachute jump and prejump training at the airborne complex (VDK), improved their packing skills and methods of parachute control, the procedure for actions in the air in emergency situations, studied the structure of the parachute system, worked out special exercises for safe landings and passed the tests.

In practice, servicemen carried out airborne assault from altitudes of 800 to 3000 m at night and during the day, in full combat gear, to various landing sites. In addition to the standard elements of the VAR, the marines practiced the collection of assault and reconnaissance groups at a designated point after landing, followed by a march at a distance of 5-10 km. Also, in the course of training events, servicemen learned the tactics of conducting reconnaissance and sabotage actions at targets and in the rear of a conditional enemy.

The VDP events were organized and held jointly with the aviation crews of the 4th Army of the Air Force and the Air Defense of the Southern Military District. The marines performed jumps from the Mi-8AMTSh Terminator transport and combat helicopters using the modern special-purpose parachute system Arbalet-2 and D-10.

In total, within the framework of the VDP collection, the personnel of the airborne assault and reconnaissance units of the KFL marines performed more than 1.5 thousand jumps.
