About 700 people visited the exposition dedicated to the tourist group of Igor Dyatlov, exhibited at the Museum “Military Glory of the Urals” at the officers’ house of the Central Military District (CVD) in Yekaterinburg.

The exhibition opened on 13 July. Residents and guests of the capital of the Urals get acquainted with the personal belongings and special tourist equipment of Igor Dyatlov’s group, who died in the mountains of the Northern Urals in 1959 under unknown circumstances. In total, more than 30 items found at the site of the death of the group are on display. All the exhibits on display were provided by the Dyatlov Group Memorial Fund.

The Dyatlov group included skiers from the Ural Polytechnic Institute’s tourist club (UPI, Sverdlovsk): five students, three graduate engineers of the UPI and a camp site instructor, front-line soldier Semyon Zolotarev. The head of the group was Igor Dyatlov, a 5th year student of the UPI, an experienced tourist.
