The Commander of the Northern Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseev, congratulated the Severomorian aviators on the 105th anniversary of the naval aviation of the Russian Navy. He noted that naval aviation plays a large role in the development of the Arctic. One of the first polar sea pilots, Jan Nagursky, pioneered the possibilities of using aircraft in high latitudes. Today, the northernmost military airfield in the world on the island of Alexandra Land in the Arctic Ocean bears his name.

“Today the naval aviation of the Russian Navy is the most important – the most mobile component, capable of solving practically the entire range of tasks at sea as part of fleet groupings and independently. Its role and place are determined by the very history of the development of the Russian Armed Forces. Everyone who has served and is serving in the naval aviation can be rightfully proud of it, ”the fleet commander emphasized.

Admiral Alexander Moiseev wished the personnel of the aviation units of the Air Force and Air Defense Association of the Northern Fleet and everyone involved in work in the skies over the Arctic, good health and good luck, high professionalism and love for their work!

“Let the number of takeoffs always equal the number of soft landings!” – this is how the commander of the Northern Fleet concluded his congratulations.

The full text of the congratulation was published in the newspaper of the Northern Fleet “On guard of the Arctic”.
