Most of the goods were supplied abroad by manufacturers of microelectronics and fiber-optic equipment.
In the first three months of 2021, residents of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow supplied products abroad for a total of 248 million rubles. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov.
“In the first quarter of this year, the volume of exports of products of residents of the SEZ of the capital amounted to 248 million rubles, which is 2.7 times more than the same period in 2020. At the same time, compared to January – March 2019, supplies increased by 4.5 times. Every eighth resident of the special economic zone of Moscow acted as an exporter, ”the deputy mayor said.
The largest export activity belongs to the manufacturers of microelectronics and fiber-optic equipment. These enterprises provided more than 68 percent of the total export volume, having sent abroad products worth over 164 million rubles. More than a quarter of the shipments were for inspection equipment and lithium-ion batteries.
“The export portfolio of the special economic zone also includes the products of manufacturers of composite materials, cutting tools, disinfection and training equipment, as well as pharmaceutical products,” added the head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department Alexander Prokhorov.
The geography of deliveries of products from the Moscow special economic zone covers several dozen countries, new directions regularly appear. According to Gennady Degtev, General Director of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, residents’ products are purchased in Europe (Switzerland, Germany, France, Lithuania, the Netherlands), Asia (China, South Korea, Japan), and also supplies to the USA and Canada. Contacts with partners in the Middle East are developing.
The Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone includes five sites with a total area of 223.3 hectares. One is in Pechatniki, four in Zelenograd: Alabushevo, Mikron, MIET and Angstrem. In total, more than 180 high-tech companies are located on the territory of the SEZ, over 80 of them have resident status. Last year Technopolis Moscow joined the World Organization of Free Zones (World FZO).
