In Makhachkala, on the territory of the multimedia historical park “Russia is my history”, the work of the mobile exhibition exposition of the Russian Geographical Society (RGO) “Golden Fund” has come to an end.

For ten days, the exhibition was visited by servicemen of formations and military units of the Caspian Flotilla, residents and guests of the Republic of Dagestan, veterans, youth soldiers, schoolchildren, representatives of public organizations and the volunteer movement.

Visitors to the exposition got acquainted with the unique historical values brought from expeditions in the European part of Russia, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East, polar territories and other regions of our country. Also, those present were able to see artifacts, antiques and get acquainted with valuable archival materials about prominent scientists-geographers and researchers who have collected unique cartographic, geological and botanical collections.

On the territory of the park, special attention was paid to the multimedia pavilion about the BK-31 armored boat, the Volga military flotilla, as well as artifacts from the First World War and the Great Patriotic War, raised by specialists of the Center for Underwater Research of the Russian Geographical Society from the bottom of the Gulf of Finland and having the status of “Object of archaeological heritage” (the object is over 100 years old).

The guests of the exhibition were especially attracted by modern forms of presentation of material using interactive solutions: from historical games, touch screens, numerous projectors, to three-dimensional modeling and digital reconstructions.

The project is aimed at popularizing the natural, historical and cultural heritage of our country. From Dagestan, the mobile exhibition will move to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan.
