In the mobile application of the Active Citizen project, we simplified the search engine and improved the interface. To vote on topical issues of city development, just make a few clicks.

Project mobile application “Active Citizen” updated and became more user-friendly. Now it is even easier and faster to find the desired section or vote. The latest version of the service is available for download for devices with Android and iOS operating systems. The structure of the application has been modernized and updated.

The search engine has been modernized in the application. The main sections “Voting”, “News” and “Public Discussions” were moved to the header of the main page. Previously, in order to find them, you had to open the menu in the upper left corner. In addition, the title page of the service contains the main citywide polls, Moscow news and available rewards in the incentive store.

And in the upper part of the panel of the “Voting” section, you can now select the topic of interest: “City”, “Improvement”, “Culture” and more. Themed icons appeared next to the names of the polls. For example, issues related to the improvement of parks, courtyards and streets are marked with a tree icon, issues related to the restoration of architectural monuments are marked with a column icon, and an electric bus is depicted on the transport icon. A project participant needs to click on one of the active polls to see blocks of questions and answer options.

Another innovation is the stream of votes on the page. After the user expresses his opinion on one issue, he does not need to return to the section menu and look for the next vote that he has not passed. You just have to scroll down the page.

Changes have also been made to the user’s personal profile. You can now track your activity in it. Under the photo and the name of the participant, it is indicated how many points he has accumulated, what is his position in the overall rating of the leaders of the project, how many votes he has passed in total. The history of points accrual has also become available to “active citizens”. Their achievements are presented in a visual graphic.

The app will be updated gradually. For some users, the improved version is already available, within a week the mobile application “Active Citizen” will be updated for everyone.

The Active Citizen project, on the platform of which online voting on urban development issues is carried out, appeared in 2014. More than five million people have become its participants. Platform users determine which streets, courtyards and park areas need to be improved, how city clinics, libraries, multifunctional centers should operate, and also choose events for festivals and celebrations. Majority decisions are implemented in the city.

For participation in the life of Moscow with the help of the “Active Citizen” users receive points. They can be exchanged for useful gifts and souvenirs. For example, citizens are offered to replenish the Troika transport card with the accumulated points, pay for parking in the paid parking zone, receive discounts in stores, spend bonuses on city tours and cinema tickets. Also, from the end of 2020, project participants can send the accumulated points to charity.

Since the beginning of the project, the townspeople have taken part in almost five thousand votes. You can find out how the capital has changed thanks to the voting within the framework of the project on the online map. More than 1.6 thousand objects have already been plotted on the diagram. In addition, in the heading “Pulse of the Capital” you can assess the changes that have taken place in the city.
