More than 300 servicemen and civilian personnel of the Ulyanovsk Guards Airborne Assault Formation, vaccinated against COVID-19, donated blood for the treatment of critically ill patients from the new coronavirus infection.

“The blood bank must be replenished to treat critically ill patients from a new coronavirus infection. I have a common blood type – the third positive, and I really hope that I can help those in need, ”said the commander of the medical company, Captain Tamerlan Batashev. After laboratory research, the resulting blood and its components will be sent to the medical institutions of the Ulyanovsk region.

The event is taking place in compliance with measures aimed at countering the spread of coronavirus infection.

Before the donation, the paratroopers filled out questionnaires, having previously passed an examination by a therapist, passed the necessary tests to determine the blood group, its Rh identity, hemoglobin level, including the presence of antibodies to the new coronavirus infection in the blood.

Participants of the help action noted that each of them considers it his duty to help people in difficult situations.
