Ministries, regions, consignors, as well as Russian Railways were instructed to determine the parameters for the development of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways, taking into account the planned cargo base, and preparing proposals for their achievement.

Such an order was given by First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov following a meeting of the Commission on Transport on the third stage of development of the Eastern Range, including the export of goods from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), according to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The analysis should be carried out for each section, detailed study is required, the first vice-premier noted. According to him, a corresponding working group will be created.

Earlier, the government approved the parameters of the second stage of modernization of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian lines until 2024. In general, the amount of financing, including funds for the infrastructure for the transit of containers, will amount to about 780 billion rubles.

The passport of the investment project of the second stage of the expansion of the BAM and Transsib was approved in accordance with the order signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The document was agreed with representatives of the shippers at a meeting of the presidium of the government commission on transport.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to fix the parameters of the second stage of the development of highways, indicating the throughput and carrying capacity of individual sections.
