From 20 to 25 July in Zhukovsky on the territory of JSC “LII im. M.M. Gromov is hosting the XV International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2019. To ensure fire safety and eliminate the consequences of possible emergencies during the Salon, a grouping of forces and means of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia was involved – 180 personnel and 42 units of rescue and fire equipment.
On the eve of the opening of the Salon, large-scale fire-tactical exercises were held by the created group to extinguish a simulated aircraft fire with imitation of dangerous fire factors, such as smoke and burning of oil products. This caused the formation of new foci of ignition in the premises and on the roof of the hangar of the flight test complex, as well as the emergence and development of a landscape fire in the area of the runway. During the exercise, the issues of interaction of the group with other ministries and departments, the search and rescue service of the airfield and the organizing committee of the salon were worked out.
At the MAKS-2021 Salon, the amphibious aircraft BE-200 EMERCOM of Russia was presented in a static display. The Be-200 aircraft is primarily focused on firefighting missions. It can make a splash down to reservoirs of suitable depth and size, take on board and dump up to 12 tons of extinguishing liquid on fire centers. Such an opportunity allows to reduce the distance and time required for water delivery and to more quickly solve the problems of localizing and eliminating fires, protecting settlements and economic facilities from a threatening natural disaster.
Also on display at the Salon is the Ka-32A11BC helicopter of the Russian Emergencies Ministry with a horizontal and vertical fire extinguishing system. He will take part in both the static screening and the flight show “One Flew of the Entire Line of Helicopters” as part of a group.
The Ka-32A11BC helicopter is designed for special search and rescue operations, firefighting, cargo transportation, evacuation of the sick and injured, and patrolling. It can extinguish fires in high smoke conditions, high-rise buildings and oil and gas facilities.
In addition, to ensure fire safety and eliminate the consequences of possible emergencies during the Salon, two Ka-32A11BC helicopters, equipped with a winch and a spillway, and a Bo-105, designed to evacuate victims, are on duty from the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
MAKS-2021 deservedly occupies one of the leading places among the world’s largest aviation forums. Visitors to MAKS-2021 will be interested in novelties from the space industry, as well as modern developments in the field of aviation security.
