As Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga said: “After the All-night Vigil, we performed a prayer for the servicemen of the Navy, thanked the Lord for the past year – thank God, there was no war. The life of a sailor is difficult, even in times of peace. Often you have to go to sea, it can be restless, raging. Often there are dangers, and God’s help is needed. The best prayer is at sea. I had to go to sea in big waves in small boats. So you expect that it will turn us over: when the prayer is strong, you pray for real. To learn how to pray, you have to go to sea. ” “But while we are here on earth, we need to master the science, as the righteous warrior Theodore, who also studied here in the Baltic Fleet, mastered it. Then he performed feats in the Black, Mediterranean Seas. He won brilliant victories for the sake of the Fatherland. believers, for which he was honored with great glory – canonization. We thank Archimandrite Innocent and the Sanaksar Monastery for the opportunity to venerate his relics. Our sailors again were able to meet with their famous admiral, pray to him, ask for blessings, help for military work. Therefore We thank the Krasnoslobodsk diocese with Vladyka Clement. I would like to cordially congratulate the servicemen who will participate in the naval parade on Sunday, wish God’s help in their labors for the good of the Fatherland, so that the Mother of God and the righteous warrior Theodore will keep you on all the paths of a difficult military life. ” , – said Metropolitan Barsanuphius in his sermon.
