On July 19, in Moscow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Nicaragua D. Moncada signed an Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua on cooperation in the field of international information security (IIB).

This document testifies to the inviolability of the strategic partnership between Russia and Nicaragua, the similarity of our countries’ approaches to providing IIB. He stresses the desire to build up bilateral cooperation and coordinate positions on one of the key elements of the international and national security system.

The agreement lays down the international legal basis for the implementation of joint initiatives, including of a practical nature, in this area. Provides for the establishment of a direct dialogue between the competent authorities of the two countries on the entire spectrum of IIB issues, as well as regular full-scale bilateral interagency consultations on this topic.
