In preparation for the festive events dedicated to the Day of the Russian Navy, servicemen of the anti-submarine sabotage forces and assets (PDSS) detachment of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) released a ship captured by a conditional illegal armed formation (IAF).
The servicemen of the PDSS detachment completed the tasks of countering terrorism at sea, being in close cooperation with the coast guard units of the Border Guard Directorate of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Dagestan.
During the exercise, coast guard boats patrolling in the designated area found a vessel captured by a simulated illegal armed group. The border guards entered into fire contact, transmitting information about the hijacking of the vessel to the command post of the Border Directorate and the CFL by radio.
A high-speed maneuverable anti-sabotage boat (PRDK) of multipurpose design, project 21980 “Grachonok” with a group of fighters of the PDSS detachment was sent to the detection area. Border patrol boats “Mongoose” and PDRK carried out fire engagement of the “enemy”, performed maneuvers and blocked the ship, thus ensuring the landing of the capture group of the PDSS detachment on board the captured ship. In the course of a short training battle and hand-to-hand combat with a group of conditional illegal armed groups, the flotilla soldiers suppressed the resistance of the “terrorists” and freed the ship’s crew.
In total, more than 20 servicemen of the PDSS KFl detachment took part in the joint exercise, high-speed boats BL-820, anti-sabotage boat “Grachonok” and border patrol boats “Mongoose” were involved.
Preparations for the celebration of the Day of the Navy are taking place in strict compliance with a set of measures to counter the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection, aimed at preserving the life and health of servicemen and their families.
100 percent of the personnel of the crews of the ships and vessels of the KFL were vaccinated in advance with two components of the drug “Gam-COVID-Vac” (“Sputnik V”). All personnel are fully provided with personal protective equipment – gloves, medical masks and antiseptics, contacts with other military personnel, civilian personnel and the local population are excluded as much as possible, all participants in the festive events are closely monitored by military doctors.
On all ships and berthing areas, preventive measures are taken on an ongoing basis to exclude the drift and spread of infectious diseases, including the organization of incoming control with body thermometry, daily disinfection and sanitization of all rooms, facilities and territory.
Solemn events on July 25 this year will also be held in compliance with the complex of sanitary and anti-epidemiological measures – the units of the NBC protection of the Southern Military District will disinfect all venues and gathering places for participants and spectators of the festival, barrier control, mask regime will be organized, all guests will be checked the temperature.
