An additional 222.2 million rubles will be allocated to ensure a stable water supply in Crimea. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The funds will be used for piping drinking water wells explored in 2021. This procedure provides for the installation of equipment necessary for operating the source, as well as work related to its protection from external influences. Part of the subsidy is also planned to be used for the construction of water pipelines.

It is expected that these measures will provide additional water supply to Crimea in the amount of at least 10 thousand cubic meters per day.

The money is allocated from the Government’s reserve fund. The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade was instructed to conclude an agreement with the republican authorities on the provision of subsidies within 30 days.

The government is actively working to solve the problem of water supply on the peninsula. So, earlier a plan was approved to ensure a reliable water supply to Crimea and Sevastopol with a total cost of 48 billion rubles. This document includes measures related to repair work on water supply networks, with the construction of modern engineering infrastructure – water intakes, drainage systems and treatment facilities.
