Order dated July 20, 2021 No. 1997-r

Russian regions will receive more than 85 billion rubles to cover the costs associated with the provision of medical insurance. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Such support will allow timely admission of patients with various diseases in conditions of increased workload on medical facilities, as well as focus additional resources on countering COVID-19. We are talking, among other things, about the financial support of inpatient treatment. In June, 25 billion rubles were already allocated for these purposes.

The Ministry of Health was instructed to conclude all the necessary agreements with the regions within 30 days and monitor the efficiency of spending federal funds.

“These funds will increase the safety margin of health care systems in the regions and will not only successfully combat the spread of coronavirus, but also not reduce the cost of routine medical care,” Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordinating Council for Combating Coronavirus on July 16.
