According to a long-established tradition, in honor of the birthday of Pavel Kamozin, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, a pupil of the Bryansk Aviation and Sports Club DOSAAF of Russia, festive events were held.

Pavel Mikhailovich Kamozin was born on July 16, 1917 in Bezhitsa, Oryol province (now – Bryansk region). In 1934 he began to master flying at the Bryansk flying club DOSAAF. During the Great Patriotic War, Pavel Mikhailovich was a fighter pilot. The flight commander, junior lieutenant Kamozin, made his first sortie on June 23, 1941, in an I-16 fighter. During the war years, he conducted about 200 sorties, in 70 air battles he personally shot down 35 and in a group of 13 enemy aircraft.

At the Bezhitsa airfield of the Bryansk aviation and sports club DOSAAF, the administration of the city of Bryansk, together with the regional branch of DOSAAF of the Bryansk region, organized an aviation holiday dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the birth of twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary Citizen of the city of Bryansk Pavel Kamozin.

At the opening of the event, Colonel Gennady Bagrov, chairman of the regional branch of DOSAAF of Russia, Bryansk region, made a solemn speech. Representatives of public organizations were awarded certificates and gratitude for their active military-patriotic work.

The program of the holiday included an exhibition of model technology, flying club technology, demonstration flights of aircraft models, parachute jumps, sightseeing flights on the aircraft of the flying club, as well as performances by musicians.

Demonstration performances of athletes-pilots with an interesting flight program were also held, in which elements of aerobatics were demonstrated. The spectators were especially interested in the demonstration jumps of sportsmen-skydivers from low altitude, group jumps and jumps for landing accuracy.

Within the framework of the event, aircraft modeling competitions have traditionally been held for more than five years. Athletes determined the best-in-class radio-controlled semi-replica models. The competition was attended by 25 athletes-model aircraft from the Bryansk region, Smolensk, Orel, Kaluga, Kursk and Obninsk. Bryansk region was represented by sportsmen from Zhukovka and Bryansk.

The winner was Vladimir Shibaev, an athlete from Kursk, master of sports.

The winners and prize-winners were awarded with medals and certificates.

The organizer of the competition is the regional branch of DOSAAF of the Bryansk region.
