Employees of the military commissariat of the city of Shelekhov, Irkutsk Region, are looking for the relatives of the front-line soldier Fyodor Danilovich Kornienko, to transfer the medal “For Courage” to storage of the battle award of the times of the Great Patriotic War.

The officers of the military commissariat found that the award No. 3641736 was presented to the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Fyodor Danilovich Kornienko, who fought on the Crimean front, in 1956. For unknown reasons, the veteran himself did not retain the award. According to the award documents, the decision to award Junior Sergeant Fyodor Kornienko was made for his personal contribution to successfully repelling the counterattack of the Nazi invaders, destroying a detachment of German soldiers and officers and slowing down the advance of enemy tanks in one of the clashes during the liberation of Kharkov.

Specialists of the military commissariat of the Irkutsk region are asking the relatives of Fyodor Danilovich to respond to the transfer of the front-line award. Contact phone: 8 (3952) 20-89-81.
