Training of riflemen of RPG-7V and AGS-17 “Flame” hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers continues at the combined-arms training grounds of the Army Corps of the Eastern Military District (VVO) on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.

In the course of training sessions, servicemen study the device and combat capabilities of grenade launchers, the types of ammunition used for them, the tactics of the operation of numbers of calculations on the battlefield, methods of determining the most important and dangerous targets, as well as the most vulnerable spots of enemy armored vehicles.

At this stage of combat training, grenade launchers perform preparatory training firing at targets imitating the military equipment of a conventional enemy, using special insert barrels for RPGs of 7.62-mm caliber.

Also, during the training camp, servicemen will pass offsets in camouflage, target classification and fire adjustment, show the level of possession of observation and aiming devices, while determining the distance to the target.

The training of grenade launchers of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces will be completed by conducting firing exercises, in the daytime and at night, using day and night observation and aiming devices. When conducting combat training classes, special attention was paid to compliance with safety requirements.

In total, more than 500 servicemen of motorized rifle formations of the army corps of the Air Defense Forces on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands were involved in the training and methodological training.
