Military specialists of the radiation, chemical and biological (RCB) protection of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet were raised on a training alert and put on alert in the Kaliningrad region.

In the course of training to repel a massive missile strike of a mock enemy, military chemists hid the fuel depots at the Pavenkovo training ground.

A continuous aerosol curtain of more than 400 meters from the reconnaissance means of the imaginary enemy was created with the help of TDA-3 thermal smoke machines above the warehouses with fuels and lubricants. By depicting an empty space up to 10 meters in height on an area of more than 2 hectares, it was possible to create an aerosol cloud that hid a strategically important object and made it possible to remain inaccessible to reconnaissance means and did not allow a mock enemy’s weapon to be struck for more than three hours.

Also, during the exercise, the servicemen worked out questions on the detection of radioactive and toxic substances on the latest RCB reconnaissance vehicles – RHM-6. The calculations carried out degassing, decontamination, and disinfection of conventionally contaminated equipment, decontamination of terrain and roads in the event of environmental pollution during a man-made disaster.

More than 60 military personnel were involved in the exercise, 20 units of special equipment were involved.
