On the basis of the training center of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation near Moscow, the All-Army stage of the competition for the calculations of the mine-search service “Find and Disarm” has come to an end.

The closing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant-General Yuri Stavitsky, Chief of Engineering Troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, participants in the gathering of the leadership and command personnel of military districts, the Northern Fleet, formations and military units of engineering troops, and veterans.

The final stage of the “Sapper Triathlon” was attended by the teams of the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Northern Fleet and the 66th Training Center of the Engineering Forces of the RF Armed Forces. The crews (counselors with service dogs) alternately covered a distance of more than 1000 meters. On the route, they overcame a section of rough terrain, fired from a small-caliber rifle, ferried to the opposite bank along a cable, searched for and designated explosives, swam across a water barrier 50 m long.

“For the first time in our history, we held the Search and Disarm competition. As a result, we saw a close-knit group of a counselor and his mine detection dog, capable of performing the assigned tasks. There are no losers in the competition, you are all winners, ”said Lieutenant General Yuri Stavitsky at the award ceremony.

According to the results of the final relay, the winners of the All-Army competitions were the crews of the mine-search service of the 66th Engineering Troops Training Center. The second in the overall standings was the team of the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The servicemen and mine detection dogs of engineering units representing the Northern Fleet became the winners of the bronze medals of the competition.

The competition was attended by 27 crews from 9 teams representing engineering military units of central subordination, military districts and the Northern Fleet.

The program of the competition provides for the implementation of 7 techniques of the general course of training mine detection dogs, demonstration of a course of special training, overcoming an obstacle course. In addition, the competitive program includes exercises to search for explosives at a time. For the search and detection of installed explosives, special simulators and platforms are equipped: “Carousel”, “Mine field”, etc.
