The meeting was also attended by Marina Vasina, assistant to the head of the Moscow Federal Penitentiary Service for the observance of human rights in the penitentiary system, a member of the Public Council at the Federal Penitentiary Service, director of the Worthy Is Charitable Foundation Ilya Aristov and Ombudsman for the Rights of the Child in Moscow Olga Yaroslavskaya.
According to Evgeny Struzhak, since 2018, Moscow has been implementing such a measure to support families with newborns as the distribution of a set of children’s accessories “Our Treasure”, and women in pre-trial detention centers are also eligible to receive this gift.
In turn, Sergei Moroz expressed gratitude to the Moscow Government not only on behalf of the women who are held in SIZO-6, but also on behalf of the personnel of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in Moscow. He noted that mothers with children staying in institutions of the Moscow penitentiary department should also receive social assistance.
