The final composition of the Russian national team for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) includes 109 athletes from the Army’s Central Sports Club.

The number of army men is 33.1% of all athletes of the Russian Olympic team in sports cultivated in the army club.

It is important to note that out of 109 army athletes, 50 are military personnel. Among them, 22 are the winners of the Summer World War Games, which took place in October 2019 in Wuhan, China. Among them are captains Maria Lasitskene, Sergey Shubenkov (both – athletics), Sofya Velikaya, Inna Deriglazova, Kamil Ibragimov (all – fencing), senior lieutenants Alan Khubetsov (judo), Timur Safin (fencing), lieutenants Arthur Naifonov (volunteer wrestling ), Musa Evloev (Greco-Roman wrestling), Ilya Ivanyuk (athletics), Vladislav Grinev, Anton Chupkov (both – swimming), Leonid Ekimov, Yulia Zykova, Yulia Karimova (all – bullet shooting), Adelina Zagidullina (fencing), warrant officers Gadzhimurad Rashidov (freestyle wrestling), Mikhail Igolnikov (judo), Alexander Lifanov (modern pentathlon), Igor Polyansky (triathlon), sergeants Konstantin Lokhanov, Olga Nikitina (both – fencing).

The first sets of medals of the Games will be drawn on July 24th.
