From July 27 to July 30, specialists of the radiation, chemical and biological protection of the Western military will conduct large-scale interagency exercises to eliminate the consequences of a man-made emergency in the regions of the Kursk nuclear power plant.

The military personnel of the RChBZ, together with the units of the National Guard of the Russian Federation, the executive authorities of the Kursk region and the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Natural Disaster Relief, will work on bringing the formations to the highest degree of combat readiness, conduct chemical and radiation reconnaissance of conditionally affected areas, as well as organize the safest routes for civilians to travel in conditions of contamination.

After ensuring the safety of the civilian population, the servicemen, together with the forces of other bodies, will carry out operational clearing of the rubble and perform the tasks of degassing, disinfecting and decontaminating the affected objects, including with the help of universal heat engines UTM-80.

In the upcoming exercises, all participating units will liquidate the complex consequences of the accident directly on the territory of the Kursk NPP, which will continue to operate normally.

In total, over 500 servicemen, about 300 units of weapons, military and special equipment of the NBC defense troops of the Western Military District will be involved in the exercises.
