On July 21, employees of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Novosibirsk Region held exercises to practice actions in the elimination of large fires in areas with no road communication. For the first time, specialists laid hose lines through the channel of the Ob River to the Kudryash Island, with a length of more than 150 meters.
Previously, in the event of a fire, the personnel of fire departments had to be delivered there by boats, and then specialists installed low-performance motor pumps. To speed up the process and increase the efficiency of firefighting, EMERCOM employees in the Novosibirsk region applied a new scheme for laying a hose line through a water obstacle. Fire hoses with a diameter of 150 millimeters and a capacity of up to 100 liters of extinguishing mixture per second were used. Each such main, connected to a fire pumping station on the mainland, can provide water for up to eight fire hoses at the site of a fire.
Experimental exercises were carried out within the framework of the school for improving operational skills for the practical training of the commanding staff of fire and rescue garrisons. It involved 50 firefighters and rescuers. Throughout the event, the State Inspection Service inspectors ensured the safety of citizens and participants of the event.
