Russian peacekeepers completed the tasks of escorting convoys of heavy vehicles along mountain roads to remote settlements of the Martuni region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Military police units searched drivers and vehicles and escorted six convoys with construction materials and food supplies along difficult, serpentine routes through the Lachin corridor in the northern and southern directions, as well as in the direction of Shusha – Red Bazaar and back.

In the areas of responsibility of observation posts, Russian peacekeepers also ensured the safe movement of vehicles.

In remote villages of the Martuni district, after the demining of the territory by the engineering teams of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, work is being carried out to restore the civil infrastructure and create conditions for the normal life of the population.

At twenty-seven observation posts, Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire regime.

During the day, 3 hectares of territory were cleared from unexploded ordnance and explosives and 3 buildings in the Martuni district were checked.

Since November 23, 2020, 2201.5 hectares of territory, 657.3 km of roads, 1,900 buildings have been cleared of unexploded ordnance, 25,677 explosive objects have been discovered and neutralized.

All actions of the Russian peacekeeping contingent are carried out in compliance with measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.

To ensure the safety of the Russian peacekeepers and prevent possible incidents, continuous interaction is maintained with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
