With the servicemen of motorized rifle and tank units on the island of Sakhalin, under the leadership of the interim commander of the army corps of the Eastern Military District (VVO), Hero of Russia, Major General Vladimir Belyavsky, a demonstration lesson on overcoming water obstacles was held.

Before conducting practical exercises at the Vododrome, the servicemen studied safety requirements, practiced emergency escaping of vehicles on special simulators. At the training sites, the actions of servicemen were shown in the event of possible emergency situations.

During the practical part of the training, the crews of armored vehicles fulfilled the standards for entering the water, overcoming a snake, getting out of the water, moving on land and back in the same sequence.

In addition to the accuracy of these elements, when determining the results, the average speed of passing the distance was also taken into account, which should be at least 7 km / h, and the minimum width of the water barrier is 70 meters.

In turn, the military personnel of the rescue units, including divers, solved the tasks of evacuating conditionally disabled equipment
and the rescue of the crew.

The implementation of these exercises allows you to consolidate the professional skills of driver-mechanics and commanders of combat vehicles in performing one of the most difficult elements of forcing water obstacles.

During the training, special attention was paid to safety requirements. A medical center and a diving post, as well as the personnel of engineering units, were in readiness to provide assistance, but their intervention in the educational process was not required.

More than 20 units of military equipment, including T-80 tanks, armored personnel carriers BTR-80 and MTLB, were involved in the demonstration lesson. All amphibious equipment that took part in the training at the hydrodrome underwent special treatment and sealing of all compartments.
