In the Elbrus region, on the basis of the Terskol Mountain Training and Survival Center, the high-altitude units of the Russian Federation will perform the second special task “Climbing in ropes at the climbing wall” within the framework of the “Elbrus Ring” competition.

Servicemen will have to compete in rope climbing on a 15 m high climbing wall.When performing the task, each serviceman has with him: a special suit, rock shoes, a kevlar helmet, gloves, a tactical vest, a 5.45-mm machine gun and four magazines for it, a belay system included: climbing carabiners, a device for descent of the “eight” or “reverse” type, a piece of the main rope to block the chest harness and gazebo, two pieces of an auxiliary rope.

More than 150 servicemen of the high-altitude units of the power departments of the Russian Federation in nine teams from the military districts, the Ground Forces, the Northern Fleet, the Airborne Forces and the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops take part in the competition for military climbers. For the first time, a team from the Federal Security Service participates in the competition. The competition will end on August 4 this year.
