In the Pavlovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, firefighter 174-PSCh EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Borkov rescued a roe deer. On that day, he spent his free time in the village.

“We saw a wounded animal near the village of Dubrovo and turned to specialists for help. In the regional veterinary clinic, the roe deer received first aid and performed an operation – the injured leg was amputated, ”said Alexander Borkov. The cause of the injuries received has not been established.

The next day after the accident, the animal needed additional surgical intervention. The firefighter went with his little ward to Nizhny Novgorod. The money for the treatment of the wounded baby was collected “by the whole world.” Veterinarian Olga Lutokhina undertook to coordinate this work. It was from her hands that the animal received first aid.

Now the life and health of a roe deer calf, which is approximately three months old, is not in danger. It will be difficult for him to survive in the wild with such injuries, so the Ministry of Forestry decided to transfer it to a local breeding plant.

The Ministry of Forestry expresses gratitude for saving the wounded animal. Alexander Borkov himself intends to follow the fate of the rescued roe deer, and as soon as the animal gets stronger, he will come to visit him.

Until 2013, roe deer were included in the “Red Book of the Nizhny Novgorod Region” and were excluded from it due to population growth.
