Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed his deputies to keep under control the situation with ensuring the vital activity of the regions affected by the emergency on the Trans-Siberian Railway, and to monitor the progress of restoration work.

The assignment was given to First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov, Deputy Prime Ministers Victoria Abramchenko, Alexander Novak and Marat Khusnullin, and profile ministers. They must monitor the progress of reconstruction work at the site of the emergency, make sure that the regions do not experience problems with food and everything necessary for life support.

A separate instruction was given to Russian Railways, which will have to do everything necessary to fully restore the operation of the main railway as soon as possible.

Due to heavy rains in the Far East, both branches of the Trans-Siberian Railway were washed away. As a result, a railway bridge collapsed in the Sretensky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, due to which the movement of trains was stopped.

President Vladimir Putin during operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council On July 23, he instructed the Government to take control of the progress of restoration work and the situation with the life support of the regions affected by the emergency.

Next week, Mikhail Mishustin, on behalf of the head of state, will hold a meeting with the heads of the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District on the elimination of the consequences of emergencies, in particular floods and wildfires.
