Servicemen of the high-mountain units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the National Guard and the Federal Security Service during the all-army stage of the Elbrus Ring-2021 competition will overcome a mountainous obstacle course in the Elbrus region.

The mountain strip is one of the most difficult special tasks of the first stage of the competition and includes ascent along vertical rails to a height of at least 3 m, descent and ascent of a box of ammunition weighing 24 kg, a hinged crossing, descent along vertical rails to a depth of at least 5 m, crossing streams along protruding stones, throwing grenades on a slope with a steepness of 30-35 degrees and a range of 25 m, crossing a swaying log, a destroyed bridge, ascent along the slope “Gorka” with a steepness of 30-35 degrees and a length of 40-45 m, descent in a “sports” way on a slope with a steepness of 30-35 degrees with a length of 40-45 m, a limited passage with a length of at least 5 m.

The servicemen will overcome all obstacles in full uniform with standard weapons.

The all-army stage of the international competition for the best high-mountain unit “Elbrus Ring-2021” is being held in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic on the basis of the Terskol Mountain Training and Survival Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It is attended by more than 150 military personnel of the high-mountain units of the power departments of the Russian Federation in nine teams from the military districts, the Ground Forces, the Northern Fleet, the Airborne Forces and the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops. For the first time, a team from the Federal Security Service participates in the competition. The competition will end on August 4 this year.
