A free coronavirus vaccination program continues in the capital.

The capital has recently seen a decrease in the number of new cases of COVID-19, but there is still a need for mass vaccination, noted Sergei Sobyaninin an interview with the TV channel “Russia 1”.

“For the fifth week, we see a decrease in the incidence. I think that by the end of the week we will summarize the results, but today it is clear that the number of cases detected is becoming much less. The number of hospitalizations is decreasing at a slower pace, because people who fall ill continue to get sick with difficulty, get seriously ill, many people are in intensive care, but in general we see that there is a decrease in the incidence rate, “said the Moscow Mayor.

Vaccination points continue to work actively. They are open in clinics, pavilions “Healthy Moscow” and other popular public places. On average, about 90 thousand people receive the first or second component of the vaccine per day.

“Unfortunately, this infection has not gone anywhere. Therefore, you need to protect yourself, take care of yourself, get vaccinated in a timely manner. If six months have passed after the first vaccination, then you need to revaccinate. We have opened revaccination at all points: the first component is enough for people to grow antibodies again, to become protected. Of course, one must understand: those who have been vaccinated are much less ill. Even if they are sick, they tolerate the disease less hard, ”added Sergei Sobyanin.

You can get a booster vaccination against COVID-19 in all vaccination centers in Moscow

In total, over four million people were vaccinated in the capital, of which more than 2.2 million people were vaccinated with the second component.
