Today, in honor of the Day of the Navy in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a naval parade and a solemn passage of the parade crews of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky garrison will take place.

In Avacha Bay, 8 ships, submarines and vessels of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia (OKVS) are exhibited in the parade lines. Among them, the newest mine defense ship Yakov Balyaev is presented for the first time. Moored to the ceremonial barrels are small missile and small anti-submarine ships, a sea minesweeper, a border patrol ship, a modern sea tug “Andrey Stepanov”, as well as a strategic nuclear-powered missile submarine of the Borey project. The parade was hosted by the acting commander of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia, Colonel Suhrab Akhmetov.

In the coastal part of the holiday – a solemn procession of troops, the consolidated companies of the Guard of Honor, OKVS directorates, air defense formations, units of a separate marine brigade, a formation of coastal missilemen, a separate mixed aviation regiment from the garrison of the city of Elizovo and the coast guard of the FSB in the Arctic region took part. In total, about 700 servicemen were involved in the passage.
