The parachuting championship of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has started in Samara, which is being held at the Kryazh military airfield.

The opening ceremony took place on the parade ground of the command brigade of the 2nd Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District. More than 100 strongest athletes, representing 7 teams from military districts, branches and types of troops of the RF Armed Forces, as well as CSKA and DOSAAF, take part in the competition.

Military personnel will compete in two disciplines: landing precision and acrobatics. In the accuracy of landing, parachute jumps will be performed from a height of 1000 meters, upon landing, the athlete must show a minimum deviation from the zero mark with a diameter of 2 centimeters. In group and individual acrobatics, parachute jumps will be performed from a height of 2200 meters, during which the personnel will perform a certain set of figures. A total of 48 sets of awards will be played in individual and team competitions.

The competition will be held from 24 to 30 July at the Kryazh military airfield, and will involve Mi-8 helicopters of the Central Sports Club of the Army of the Ministry of Defense.
