Serp and Molot station will unite MCD-2, MCD-4, as well as two metro stations – “Rimskaya” of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line and “Ploshchad Ilyicha” of the Kalininskaya line.
In April this year, on the border of the Lefortovo and Tagansky districts, the construction of a large transport and interchange hub “Hammer and Sickle” began. Currently, new platforms are being built here, as well as the foundation of the southern exit from the elevated pedestrian crossing (concourse). In parallel, the removal of communications is underway.
The stopping point Serp and Molot of the Gorky direction of the Moscow Railway in 2024 will unite the second and fourth Moscow Central Diameters (MCD), as well as two metro stations – “Rimskaya” of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya line and “Ploshchad Ilyich” of the Kalininskaya line. To create a large transport hub, specialists will build two platforms, and later, at the second stage, they will move two platforms of the MCD-2 Moscow Tovarnaya station closer to Rogozhskaya Zastava Square. Thus, the transition between the platforms will be reduced from 12 to one minute, and it will be possible to change to the metro in a few minutes.
A covered overground passage with a passenger lobby is being erected at the station, which will be equipped with elevators and escalators, turnstiles and ticket offices. The crossing will be a transit one – it will be possible to safely cross the railway tracks from Zolotorozhsky Val Street to Sredny Zolotorozhsky Lane.
“The creation of such large hubs as Hammer and Sickle, Slavyansky Boulevard or Shchukinskaya is a great contribution to the transport system of the future. We create it taking into account the needs of our passengers, and sometimes even ahead of them. This expands the transport capabilities of passengers and allows them to choose the most convenient and fastest route “, – said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow, head Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development Maxim Liksutov…
