16 convicts IK-25 will try to enroll in distance learning at Syktyvkar State University in 5 directions on a budgetary basis.

Last week, entrance examinations began for convicts of correctional colony No. 25 who wish to enroll in Syktyvkar State University named after Pitirim Sorokin.

Convicts take exams using remote technologies, for which the administration of the institution has prepared a special platform where several applicants can simultaneously take tests.

The first subject was history. Next on the list are the Russian language, social studies and informatics. Applicants will be notified of the results no earlier than three days after passing the test.

This year, for applicants from among the convicted correctional institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Komi Republic, the University proposed 5 directions for training on a budgetary basis. In IK-25, 16 convicts expressed their desire to get a higher education, of which 15 – in undergraduate programs, 1 – in magistracy. To enroll in undergraduate programs, applicants will need to pass 3 subjects: 2 compulsory and 1 optional. Their set is determined by the chosen direction of training.

It should be noted that all those wishing to enter higher educational organizations also passed the unified state exam, which is necessary for this, within the walls of the correctional colony.
