This morning at the headquarters of the Northern Fleet in honor of the Day of the Russian Navy took place a solemn ceremony of awarding distinguished officers. State awards were presented to subordinates by the Commander of the Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseev.

In accordance with the Decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, for the courage, courage and dedication shown in the performance of military duty, merits in the field of health care, as well as high personal indicators in official activities and many years of conscientious service and work, the honorary title “Honored Health Worker” was awarded to the head of the medical naval service colonel of the medical service Sergei Kuznetsov, and the Pirogov Order was awarded to the doctor-specialist of the ship’s group of special medical care of the medical detachment 1469 of the naval clinical hospital, lieutenant colonel of medical service Roman Shishkin.

The medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree, was awarded to the flagship communications officer of the Northern Fleet’s submarine forces, Captain 2nd Rank Pyotr Gerasimenko.

The Ushakov Medal was awarded to the commander of the electro-mechanical warhead of the nuclear submarine cruiser, Captain 2nd Rank Oleg Veraksa. Five more officers of the formation and units of the Air Force and Air Defense Army, the Army Corps and the Navy Headquarters were awarded the Suvorov Medal.

Presenting state awards, the fleet commander congratulated each officer on the Day of the Russian Navy and wished him further success in military service for the good of the Fatherland.
