The devices allow performing the hemodialysis procedure in a comfortable environment and as convenient as possible for patients.
City Clinical Hospital named after S.S. Yudina in July, the equipment for hemodialysis was completely renewed. New devices make this procedure convenient and comfortable for patients.
Hemodialysis is necessary for people who have poor or no kidney function. A special filter purifies the blood outside the body. With the help of modern equipment, patients undergo hemodiafiltration – this method allows you to effectively remove a wide range of toxins from the blood. During the procedure, the therapeutic (clinical) effect is achieved by the exchange of a large amount of fluid, and the dialysis itself is close to the natural function of the kidneys. Today this method is considered one of the best and most effective in renal replacement therapy.
There are 24 artificial kidneys in the hemodialysis unit. It receives about 80 patients daily – in four shifts, six days a week. On average, one patient spends about four hours in the hemodialysis room three times a week, said the head of the department, Oleg Mishin.
To accommodate the new machines, the hospital renovated a wing on the first floor of the main building. The hemodialysis department has been operating here since 1981. Today, people with any kidney disease at the S.S. Yudin, they provide comprehensive medical care. In addition to the hemodialysis department, they work in the nephrological and surgical department No. 3. If necessary, specialists in endovascular diagnostic and treatment methods, endocrinologists, cardiologists and others are involved in the treatment of patients.
In the nephrology department, patients receive therapeutic treatment. The task of doctors is to prevent the development of pathological processes and organ death. In addition, patients who use dialysis machines for home use are monitored here. The appearance of such equipment resembles a small suitcase that can be easily carried in the hand. The department has 46 such devices at its disposal.
City Clinical Hospital named after S.S. Yudina is the largest medical holding in Moscow. Every year 58 thousand operations are performed here, including almost 10 thousand high-tech ones. The institution has two outpatient departments, a maternity hospital, a perinatal center, and 13 women’s health clinics. In the near future, it is planned to commission new hemodialysis machines in the hospital.
