To increase supplies of pollock to the domestic market, the state will subsidize rail transportation of these products from the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District to the central part of the country. The decree on the rules for the provision of state support was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
We are talking about the provision of subsidies to the railway to compensate for losses arising from the establishment of preferential tariffs for the transportation of pollock products. This decision was announced by Mikhail Mishustin in a conversation with the fishing industry during his visit to Iturup Island as part of a working trip to the Far East.
“Such a support mechanism will allow increasing the volume of supplies of pollock from the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District to the central part of our country, and reducing the cost of transportation,” Mikhail Mishustin noted.
In parallel, this will help free up refrigeration capacity for use during the salmon fishing season, the Prime Minister added.
He also said that he would instruct the Ministry of Agriculture, together with other relevant departments, Russian Railways and industry unions, to comprehensively work out the issue of delivering fish and fish products from the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District to other regions of the country. As part of this work, it will be necessary to go through the entire chain – from the pier to the counter, in order to ensure the availability of fish products for the population with minimal margins, Mikhail Mishustin specified.
According to him, this is part of the measures, the need for which The President spoke at a meeting with the Government on July 21.
“We will continue to closely monitor the situation with prices for food, consumer goods and services,” emphasized Mikhail Mishustin.
The document will be published
