In Kabardino-Balkaria, within the framework of the All-Russian stage of the Elbrus Ring competition, servicemen of the Armed Forces, the Federal Security Service and the Russian National Guard will carry out the eighth special task “Overcoming a rocky area of ​​the terrain”.

Military climbers of the Russian Federation will overcome a rocky area up to 150 m in length in the area of ​​the Terskol glacier with an average ascent angle of at least 45 degrees. Servicemen will carry out tasks with standard weapons and in full equipment weighing about 30 kg.

After completing a special task, the personnel in combat formation will move to the place of overnight stay along the route: rocky massif Terskol – Rigel – Terskol pass – glacier of the Dzhikaukinkez plateau – Kalitsky peak – Ice Lake.

Also, during the next competition days of the second stage, the teams will have to perform special tasks “Landing with a forced march”, “Overcoming the ice area (ascent)”, “Overcoming the ice area (descent)”, “Transporting the victim”.

In total, more than 150 people from the divisions involved in the performance of tasks in high-mountainous areas were involved in the competition.

The all-army stage of the international competition for the best high-mountain unit “Elbrus Ring-2021” is held in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic on the basis of the Terskol Mountain Training and Survival Center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It is attended by more than 150 military personnel of the high-mountain units of the power departments of the Russian Federation in nine teams from the military districts, the Ground Forces, the Northern Fleet, the Airborne Forces and the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops. For the first time, a team from the Federal Security Service participates in the competition. The competition will end on August 4 this year.
