The Patriot Park and the Kubinka airfield hosted a patriotic action of the Day of Remembrance “Dedicated to the Defenders of Moscow’s Sky”, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the repulse of the first massive enemy air raid on Moscow during the Great Patriotic War.

The event was held by the Central Officers’ Club of the Aerospace Forces in cooperation with the Air Force Aeroclub.

As part of the action, the grand opening of the Alley of Heroes of the Pilots of Russia – “In memory of the defenders of the Moscow sky” took place, where the young soldiers of the Center for Military-Patriotic Education of the Aerospace Forces (at the CSC of the Aerospace Forces) of the Ivan Kozhedub and Pyotr Nesterov detachments took an active part in the landing of cedars. The final of the holiday for the children was the presentation by the director of the Patriot Park Igor Barskov a medal in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Three times Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Kozhedub.

The museum-historical exposition of the Kubinka airfield introduced visitors to those who were the first to take their planes from the Cuban airfield on the night of July 21-22. In the pavilion of the Cuban Aero Club, an exhibition of rare aviation equipment and aviation small arms and cannon aircraft is presented.

The guests of the event saw the military-historical reconstruction “Reflection of the Air Raid” with the flights of the Red Army and Luftwaffe aviation, the actions of air defense systems and citizens of Moscow, during which the pilots of the Cuban Aero Club lifted their planes from the runway.

The basis of the concert program was the performances of the artists of the CSC VKS creative group, consisting of: laureates of international and all-Russian competitions Sergei Lashmanov, Margarita Knyazeva and author-performer Rimma Bryzhakhina. They performed songs about the Motherland, pilots and songs of the war years. Rimma Bryzhakhina presented her new song “The Silver Bird” to the audience, dedicating it to the pilots. Before the start of the demonstration flight of the aerobatic group “Russian Knights”, the artists of the Central Officers’ Club of the Aerospace Forces sang the anthem of Moscow “My Moscow”.
