A special exercise of military police units of the Central Military District (CVO) started today at training ranges in the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Orenburg, Samara and Saratov regions. The exercise will last until the end of the week. This was announced by the head of the regional military police department of the Central Military District, Colonel Konstantin Smirnov.

“Special exercises of military police units of the Central Military District started in five regions of the Urals and the Volga region. More than 300 servicemen of military units and territorial commandant’s offices of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation within the responsibility of the military district have been involved in them, ”said Colonel Konstantin Smirnov.

He noted that during the exercise, taking place against a single operational background, the military police of the Central Military District are practicing new techniques and methods of action in various conditions of the situation and emergency situations when performing tasks aimed at maintaining law and order and security during the period of combat training with the participation of troops … “In addition, during the exercise period, issues related to the fight against terrorism will be worked out, including with the use of experience in performing special tasks outside the Russian Federation,” Colonel Konstantin Smirnov said.

The Central Military District is deployed in 29 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The district structurally includes a number of foreign objects: the 201st military base on the territory of Tajikistan, the united military base in Kyrgyzstan, as well as units on the territory of Kazakhstan.
