The International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021”, the main theme of which will be Islamic Conscious Consumption, opens on July 28 in Kazan. This was told in the press service of the Investment Development Agency of Tatarstan.
The event, which will take place from 28 to 30 July, is expected to become the main platform for economic interaction between Russia and the countries of the Islamic world these days. “The summit will discuss issues of Islamic conscientious consumption, which is different from the traditional Western model,” the press service said.
The discussions will be attended by 32 ambassadors of foreign states, representatives of 60 countries and 33 regions of Russia. Among the honored guests are the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Tani Ahmed Al Zayudi, Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Nevin Esameldin Hassan Gamea, Abkhazian Economy Minister Kristina Konstantinovna Ozgan, Kyrgyz Investment Minister Almambet Shykmamatov, Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Samir Abdullah Ahmadah.
In just three days, 90 round tables will be held, among the key topics of the business program: partner finance, the halal industry, youth diplomacy, medicine, sports, creative industries, export development, entrepreneurship and investment. On the sidelines of the summit, a Russian-African session on the logistics of economic prospects, a forum of ethical business leaders of the International Association of Islamic Business, a plenary discussion of the CCI ecosystems “International System of Chambers of Commerce and Industry” and many others will take place.
Among the traditional events of the summit are the forum of young entrepreneurs of the OIC countries, Sbertalk, the show of decent fashion Modest Fashion, the forum of young diplomats of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The international economic summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit” has been held in Tatarstan for 12 years, only in 2020 it had to be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. For the first time, the summit was held in 2009, hosting 250 participants, and in 2019 the event was attended by more than 3.5 thousand participants.
The organizers identified the main goal of KazanSummit to establish cooperation and maintain a dialogue between Russia and the countries participating in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the economic, political and cultural spheres.
During the summit, the Journalists’ Lounge will operate – a space for communication between media representatives and key speakers of the upcoming event. The site provides for work in different formats – from briefings and press approaches to individual interviews, offline on the sidelines of the forum and online via video communication. The journalistic living room was organized by the Russian news agency TASS.
